What's New at INDA

We've had great schooling shows, are finishing the Peter DeMulder clinic, and now have to nominate officers and make plans for 2009. This is your "less than one week warning"!

Our meeting is at 6 p.m., this Friday, October 17th, at Linda Wood's home. We will provide a pizza dinner and beverages.

Directions to Linda's house: take Hwy 2 north, approximately 9 miles from the Y to the Waste management transfer station, which is on Elk-Chattaroy Road. ( DO NOT take Hwy 395-Hwy 2 curves to the right at the Y.) Turn right, or east on Elk-Chattaroy Road, curving to the left as it does. Go 1.1 miles from Hwy 2, and then turn right, or east on Lo Dolce Rd. Go .2 miles (2 tenths of a mile) and my house is on the left, or north side of the road. The address is on the fence-4719-and it is a tan house with green trim-the fence is white and there will be an open iron gate to drive through. There are red barns in the back. My phone number is 238-6954 in case anyone needs it.

We hope to see a big turn out. We will have our end of year awards for the shows. Thank you to Linda for sharing her home with us!

It is with great regret that we inform our members of the recent passing of friend and expert leather worker Verlane DesGrange. Verlane was active in our club during her time in Spokane. Click on the link for the story from the Cody, Wyoming newspaper. http://www.codyenterprise.com/articles/2007/12/06/obituaries/obit017-1953.txt

Some of you may have already seen this flier and heard the story. We need to get these horses home! Even if you think someone else has already done it, take the flier to a place with a public bulletin board, no matter what part of the country you live in. Reward

Meetings for 2007 will be scheduled in January, March, May, July, September and November. Date and times will be determined by the new officers and published as soon as possible. These will be business meetings (used to plan events, organize shows, etc) and we hope anyone interested in organizing events, helping with shows, writing the newsletter will attend. Since the club is looking for individuals to manage one or more of the schooling shows, write the newsletter, obtain club sponsors, compile a calendar/omnibus and help with clinics and events we hope for a good turnout of willing volunteers. Most events are already planned, but additional help is needed to make them happen.

June 12, 2007 Meeting Minutes

The regular INDA meeting was held at Marie Calendar’s on June 12, 2007. Helen Allerding called the meeting to order.

Carol Voight reported that we made approximately $600. at the schooling show held April 21st and about $800 at the schooling held June 7th. This gives us the money to pay for insurance bill of $800. leaving a balance of $700. Our next schooling show will be July 28th. We voted to approve the purchase of a laptop computer for $599, so we can handle the show scores and riding times. We currently have the Fox Village show program.

We are planning the have a clinician judge that can give a clinic after the September 15th show on the 16th. We are currently searching for that “clinician judge”.

We want all members to know that there is going to be an AWS inspection on Sept 2nd and the person to contact for that is Becky Beamer.509 796-5060 and Marion O’Connor is having RPSI inspection on Sept 15th, The location is yet to be determined.

"Summer Daze" was hot, but intrepid riders relazed and had fun anyway. A light breeze and lots of water kept us going.

Sigrid Shearn jokes with scribe Chris Hansen (Spokane) and judge Lexie deFremery (Sandpoint) at the end of the day. The horses were very agreeable to using Carol Voogd's Subaru as a judge's stand. No scary horse trailers at Spokane Equestrian Center! SEC and Karen Avichouser were very gracious in helping us feel at home in their facility.

As usual, the Busy Bee Ranch was well represented! Their shade tent helped them beat the heat.

Nicole Dutzi brought Aukbar. Nicole was scorer at our June show.

Than you to everyone who is supportive of our Schooling Show Circuit. Special thanks to Joy Terry-Hicks, who helped me take down the arena! Our last show of the season is September 15th st SSHF. We'd love to see more INDA members as riders and volunteers!
